Our mission is to make it easier for professionals to find colleagues anywhere in the world - to support cross-border patient care, facilitate cascade testing, and strengthen professional connections across the global genetics community.

The idea for this directory grew directly from a recurring problem. For years, genetics professionals posted requests on community pages and emailed organization leadership looking for help identifying colleagues in other countries. Providers needed to connect patients with genetics services abroad, facilitate cascade testing for families living on different continents, and find reliable contacts across language and geographic barriers. While valuable regional and professional networks exist, no single resource brought the global genetics community together in one place.

Monisha Sebastin, together with her Global Genetics Directory team, created this resource to fill that gap. Supported by the Audrey Heimler Special Projects Award from the National Society of Genetic Counselors — granted in recognition of projects that advance the future of genetic counseling — the Global Genetics Directory launched as a consent-based, professionally verified platform designed to serve the needs of the genetics workforce worldwide. The directory is still growing. Every new member makes it more useful for all of us.
