VERIFICATION GUIDELINES
Overview To maintain a safe, trusted, peer-to-peer network, GDGG manually verifies every applicant before granting access to the directory map and member contact tools.
1. Eligible Specialties To qualify for registration, you must hold active credentials or certification in one of the following roles:
Medical Geneticists (MD, DO, or equivalent)
Genetic Counselors / Clinical Geneticists (GC, MSc, or national board equivalent)
Genetics Nurses / Advanced Practice Genetics Nurses (APGN)
Allied Genetics Professionals directly involved in clinical patient care
Note: Registration is currently closed to students, residents, fellows, and non-clinical laboratory staff.
2. Verification Requirements During registration, applicants must submit at least one of the following verifiable references:
Active Professional License / Registration Number: Issued by a recognized state, national, or regional regulatory body.
Institutional Directory Profile: A direct link to an active clinical, hospital, or university profile listing your current role.
Professional Board Certification ID: Verification ID from a recognized body (e.g., ABMGG, CAGC, EBMG, HGSA).
Institutional Email Address: Registration using an official hospital or university domain (.edu, .gov, or health system domains) expedites manual review.
3. Verification Timeline
Reviews are conducted manually by the GDGG verification team.
Standard processing takes 10 to 14 business days.
