Hi, I’m Grace Kavanaugh.

I am a California-based, board-certified genetic counselor with clinical experience spanning prenatal genetics, cancer research, and multi-system care. After completing my graduate training in California, I worked in London, UK, as a clinical genetic counselor and researcher at the Institute of Cancer Research. Practicing within different healthcare environments gave me a deep, firsthand appreciation for how genetic services are delivered globally and highlighted the critical need for cross-border collaboration.

As co-chair of the NSGC International Special Interest Group, I have focused on expanding resources, supporting mentorship, and surveying workforce needs worldwide. With the Global Genetics Directory, I lead community engagement and outreach efforts—developing data-driven surveys and building connections to ensure our network effectively serves genetic professionals across every region.
